NEW YORK (Reuters) - clothing brand owned by Hollywood legend and fashion icon Elizabeth Taylor, haute couture including Chanel, Dior and Yves Saint Laurent, will be auctioned in New York, Christie said Wednesday.
The dress of chiffon, the Oscar winner went to his first marriage to actor Richard Burton, will be among the nearly 400 times in the series included four days of sales in December.
"One of the many great treasures huge collection of Elizabeth Taylor's wardrobe exceptionally well preserved," said Marc Porter, president and chairman of Christie's America.
"The beautiful costumes that led to the gala, awards, AIDS benefits and even his own marriage, Richard Burton are all here, perfectly preserved with the bag, shoes, hats and other accessories that their superstar is completed," said a statement.
On sale December 13 to 16 covering 50 years of fashion, will follow a three-month tour that also includes global jewelry famous Taylor, art and souvenirs. This will be the second in a series of auctions of the estate of the legendary film star who died in March.
